Located between the sea and the mountains in Tuscany, Montalcino’s Mediterranean climate makes it the ideal home for the Sangiovese grape, source of the famous Brunello di Montalcino. Passed down from generation to generation, these vines have remained exclusively in the hands of Montalcino families, making it next to impossible for outsiders to gain a foothold. As a member of The Vines, you will be one of the fortunate few.

Here we partner with two great Tuscan wine experts. Giacomo Neri of Casanova di Neri is the latest-generation Brunello superstar famous for creating five different wines awarded a perfect score of 100. Roberto Cipresso is a highly experienced Tuscan winemaker, as well as founder of the famous La Fiorita estate and the Wine Circus Ideas Lab.

With access to some of the world’s finest Sangiovese grapes, Vines members can make fabulous quality Brunello di Montalcino wine, and they can also take advantage of the myriad local varietals like Montepulciano, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon to create the Super Tuscan blends that originated here.

When not making wine, we’ll comb the Tuscan forests for truffles, taste vintages from other top producers and learn to make ragu with Nonna Clara. Together we’ll eat al fresco at the home of Roberto Rossi, where the Michelin-starred chef and owner of local restaurant Il Silene will prepare his favorite lunch and share a batch of grappa from his personal cellar. Then we’ll go on a hike and take in the rolling hills, venturing where no cars go.
