With some of the world’s steepest vineyards overlooking the winding Mosel River, this German region is known for its spectacular white wines primarily from the Riesling grape. The combination of the cool, sunny climate and the famous slate soil allow Mosel producers to make the world’s most revered Riesling wines, with flavors that range from bone dry to lusciously sweet, and everywhere in between. Many of these famed family estates have been making their wines for centuries; now it’s your turn to break in.

WINEMAKING IN THE MOSEL

We partner with Ernst Loosen, the visionary winemaker and owner of Dr. Loosen vineyard, one of the Mosel’s most iconic estates. Realizing the potential of his family’s old vines, Loosen shifted to organic vineyard practices and began pursuing a gentler style of production when he took over in 1988.

These choices allow the Mosel’s world-class terroir to truly shine through, granting members otherwise impossible access to the finest, most authentic Riesling grapes the region has to offer. The Mosel offers members a unique opportunity to play with one grape variety, exploring the multitude of styles and flavors it can produce.

CULTURE IN THE MOSEL

When not making our Rieslings, we’ll cruise down the Mosel River on a luxury river boat, climb to the top of the world’s steepest vineyard, Calmont, explore the region’s old castles and tour Germany’s oldest city, Trier. All the while we will enjoy crisp Rieslings and fine meals prepared for us by some of Germany’s most talented chefs. In the private dining room of the Dr. Loosen estate, we will drink incredible old vintages from Ernst Loosen’s own library collection.
