Often compared to Burgundy, Oregon’s prowess in growing Pinot Noir (the star grape of both regions) rivals some of Burgundy’s most coveted Grand Cru Vineyards. The Willamette Valley is the premier winegrowing region of Oregon and is home to boutique family producers whose farming philosophies are deeply rooted in decades of organic, sustainable, and biodynamic practices. Situated in a bountiful valley between the Cascade Mountains and Pacific Ocean, the climate is cooler than neighboring winegrowing regions to the south in California. This creates ideal growing conditions for elegant Pinot Noir as well as beautifully balanced, crisp, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Though its annual production is relatively small, Willamette Valley wines punch well above their weight and can proudly take their place on the world stage next to any famous Burgundy.
